Student - Mouse Squad » Overview

MOUSE Squad is coming to Alta Vista Elementary soon!
Mouse Squad is one of Alta Vista’s leadership programs for 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in learning how computers work and how to troubleshoot computers, printers, and other equipment. Students are selected for this leadership position based on recommendations from their teachers and must sign a commitment to fully participate in the program for the school year.

Certification: We believe expertise comes from experience, and MOUSE Squad Certification is an important first step in building the tools needed to be successful as a Squad Member: teamwork, help desk operations & technology troubleshooting. MOUSE Squad Certification is a collection of hands-on, coordinator-facilitated group activities within 10 standards-based instructional modules. Each activity includes a detailed lesson plan, materials list, knowledge base resources articles and facilitation advice.

History: MOUSE Squad of California (MSCA) developed from National TECH CORPS, which began in 1995. TECH CORPS California (TCCA) was launched and later became a subsidiary of Aspiranet, a nonprofit organization that provides afterschool, youth development and community technology programs as well as children and family services in California.
