Dear Union School District Community,
We continue to monitor the novel coronavirus situation closely. At this time the health risk to the general public in Santa Clara County remains low. However, the CA Department of Public Health has issued new guidance for schools and school districts. All of our front office staff have been trained and we will be monitoring any students who have traveled out of the country. Please note, this guidance does not apply to travel from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

NEW GUIDANCE FOR SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS
Please note that there have been reports of students and others being stigmatized. We urge schools to ensure students’ and staffs’ privacy to help prevent discrimination.
Students and staff returning from mainland China arriving in the United States since February 3, 2020, should be excluded from school for 14 days, beginning the day after they left China. This is a change from the previous guidance.
More information can be found here.
CDC guidance on returning travelers is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/
The health and safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Each of our schools has health protocols and processes in place to ensure precautions are taken to prevent the spread of all infectious diseases, including common illnesses like colds and flu. We will follow these updated guidelines and continue to work with the county health department as this situation evolves.
