During distance learning, our schedule will three hours and fifty minutes of instructional time, both asynchronous and synchronous. We will use SeeSaw for our asynchronous learning platform, and Zoom for our synchronous instruction & class meetings.
Reading instruction will focus on phonemic awareness, sight words, fluency, and comprehension. Writing work will include spelling, conventions (spacing, punctuation, penmanship), narratives, opinion pieces, and informative text.
Instruction will include addition/subtraction facts, geometry, time, place value, patterns, measurement and mathematical reasoning.
Science exploration will plants and organisms (patterns, traits, growth, structure and function), light and sound waves (including solids, liquids, and gases), Earth and solar system (patterns and cycles), and engineering design (asking questions, designing solutions, testing and improving).
We will continue to explore our community, maps, basic economic concepts, and the importance of citizenship.
