English Language Learners (ELL)
The California English Language Development Test (CELDT). This exam is given to all students who are already identified as English Learners (EL), as well as all students whose native language is other than English and are newly enrolled in the district/school.
Students who qualify to receive additional English Language (EL) tutoring services participate in a tutoring program before school. EL tutoring instruction focuses on the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The program is designed to help students gain English language proficiency as quickly as possible. Our English Language Learner teacher works closely with the classroom teacher to ensure each child is progressing in their language development.
