The Garden Club meets at lunchtime on designated days out in the garden. Students help maintain the garden, learn about a variety of plants and trees, and help with weeding, planting, and harvesting. Parents with gardening skills or just a love of gardening are welcome to join us and help groups of students with projects.
Classes also utilize our garden as an extension of the classroom life science curriculum to learn about the life cycle of plants, release newly hatched butterflies, learn about composting, and the importance of caring for our environment, as well as grow flowers and vegetables. At any given time during the year, one might observe students growing pumpkins squash, green beans, strawberries, peppers, poppies, and sunflowers.
